Conscious Sedation in outpatient maxillofacial surgery
At Windy City we know how important it is for you to offer the best ambulatory surgery service, to guarantee the health of your patient, for that reason we offer Intravenous Anesthesia in your office, to avoid having to raise costs by hiring an operating room for your ambulatory services.
We have conscious sedation for surgeries that do not require hospitalization, such as:
– Mentoplasties,
– SARPE
– Rhinoplasties
– Zygomatic implant surgery
– Wisdom teeth surgery
– Bone regeneration surgeries
Our anesthesia service offers you all the assessments, from before, during, and after surgery, assessing your patient, to know which is the best option to perform the sedation and thus ensure that the patient is comfortable and relaxed, while you can perform the surgery without having to worry about anesthesia.
Our assessment consists of the following steps:
– We study your medical history
– We assess allergies, toxic habits, and chronic medication of the patient.
– We perform complementary tests (analytical, ECG, etc).
– And we manage the signature of the anesthetic informed consent (IF THIS POINT DOES NOT APPLY FOR WINDY CIY, WE ELIMINATE IT).
Our work:
1. We start with sedation, which was previously established based on the preoperative assessment, which will serve to minimize discomfort and the patient enters into a pleasant state of relaxation and comfort.
2. Once the patient is sedated, and a little before starting the surgery, the maxillofacial surgeon performs an infiltration with local anesthetics in the surgical area to be operated. This infiltration aims to achieve complete insensibility of the area to be treated.
3. During the surgery, our team of experts will be present throughout the surgery to be regulating the level of sedation, breathing, and heart rate; as it would be done in an operating room.
Thanks to the fact that the medication used during surgical sedation is metabolized quickly, the patient recovers an adequate level of consciousness fairly quickly, thus being able to go home without difficulty.
If necessary, antagonist drugs can also be administered to reverse their effect more quickly. In addition, the intravenous application of sedatives allows for less inflammation during the immediate postoperative period.
Windy City can provide all the necessary supplies and equipment to safely perform the procedures in your office setting.
Please call us at 815-462-8410, we will be happy to schedule an anesthesia services consultation until your office.
